Hi, I’m Ainsley and I am one of the fourth graders from across Nebraska who tour our state capitol each year. Nebraska Education on Location is a new way to learn . . . an exciting way to experience the history of our state!
When Nebraska’s Centennial Mall is fully renovated, it will be home to a new learning experience. “Nebraska Education on Location” will be an interactive electronic information system providing direct access to background on historical events, individuals and locations that have played a role in the development of Nebraska. It will be one of the first outdoor systems of its kind to provide this access from point of display often in locations pertinent to the story itself.
This new interactive system will use QR (“Quick Response”) code technology. Visitors to Centennial Mall will be able to use “smartphones” or tablet computers to scan the code on displays in the area which will then take them to a designated web site with additional background on the subject.
This service will enhance the Centennial Mall experience by enabling access to educational resources that will provide a permanent living history.
